KFC opens first restaurant in Berbice

KFC Guyana officially opened its newest restaurant in Rosignol on Sunday, marking an important milestone in the brand’s continued expansion and bringing its world-famous chicken closer to residents of West Berbice and surrounding communities.

Located on the Rosignol Public Road, the new restaurant represents KFC’s first entry into this area and reflects the company’s commitment to expanding its footprint beyond Essequibo Islands-West Demerara (Region 3) and Demerara-Mahaica (Region 4) and making its products and services more accessible to customers across Guyana.

Beyond offering greater convenience and a new dining experience, the opening represents a meaningful investment in the local economy, creating employment opportunities, supporting skills development and contributing to commercial activity in the community.

KFC says the new restaurant provides direct employment opportunities for residents, with team members receiving training in food preparation, customer service, food safety and restaurant operations.

“These opportunities not only provide a source of income for individuals and families but also equip employees with valuable skills and experience that can support their long-term professional development,” the entity said in a statement.

KFC Guyana says the investment is also expected to generate wider economic benefits through increased demand for local services, including transportation, maintenance, and security.

By establishing a presence in Rosignol, KFC says it is contributing to the area’s growing commercial landscape and supporting economic activity beyond the restaurant itself.

Speaking on the opening, Paul Subryan, CEO, KFC Guyana/Beharry Restaurant Operations Inc. said “The opening of KFC Rosignol is about more than expanding our restaurant network. It represents our confidence in the continued growth and potential of Berbice and our commitment to bringing investment, employment and new opportunities to communities across Guyana. We are particularly pleased to create opportunities for residents to develop their skills and build careers within our business, while making the KFC experience more accessible to families and customers in Berbice.”

The opening also reflects the broader commitment of the Beharry Group, of which KFC Guyana is a part, to investing in businesses that contribute to economic development, create sustainable employment and deliver long-term value to the communities they serve.

As Guyana continues to experience economic growth and development, KFC Guyana says it remains focused on expanding responsibly, strengthening its customer experience and identifying opportunities to serve new communities.

With its signature Original Recipe and Spicy Chicken, along with a selection of popular combos, sides and desserts, KFC Rosignol welcomes customers to enjoy the taste and quality that have made the brand a favourite among Guyanese consumers.

Since its acquisition by the Beharry Group in 2016, KFC has continued to expand its restaurant network – now 13, delivering its “It’s Finger Lickin’ Good,” world-famous chicken while investing in people, customer experience and communities across Guyana.
