Nov 5, 2026 | 2 min read

Guyana is strengthening its international tourism presence and pursuing new investment opportunities, partnerships and visitor growth through its participation in the World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026, one of the world’s leading travel and tourism exhibitions.

Led by Minister of Tourism, Industry and Commerce, Susan Rodrigues, and Director of the Guyana Tourism Authority (GTA), Kamrul Baksh, the Guyanese delegation is participating in the November 3–5 event, showcasing the country’s diverse tourism offerings and engaging international travel trade professionals.

Through engagements with international stakeholders, the team will highlight Guyana’s unique tourism experiences, while exploring opportunities to attract new source markets, strengthen business relationships and encourage investment in the sector.

As part of the engagements on Wednesday, Minister Rodrigues held a roundtable discussion with Saint Lucia’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Investment, Creative Industries, Culture and Information, Ernest Hilaire, focusing on areas of mutual interest and opportunities for greater regional tourism cooperation.

Meanwhile, the Guyana pavilion also served as a platform for networking and promoting the country’s cultural offerings.

A special networking session featured sampling of Guyana’s signature El Dorado 12-Year-Old Rum and local treats, giving international guests a taste of the country’s distinctive hospitality.

The event further saw the launch of the latest edition of the Explore Guyana magazine by THAG President Mitra Ramkumar.

Guyana’s participation in WTM London forms part of ongoing efforts to position the country as a competitive international destination, expand its global tourism footprint and translate increased international exposure into greater opportunities for businesses and communities across the tourism sector.

The delegation also includes representatives from the Tourism and Hospitality Association of Guyana (THAG), Wilderness Explorers, Trail Masters Adventure Tours, Travel the Guianas, Iwokrama and Visit Rupununi, alongside the Guyana High Commission in the United Kingdom.
