Guyana faces Cayman Islands in crucial Nations League clash
Guyana’s Golden Jaguars are back in Concacaf Nations League action today against the Cayman Islands at Windsor Park in Roseau, Dominica.
Guyana opened its League B, Group A campaign with a 1-0 victory over Puerto Rico, with Osaze DeRosario converting a 78th-minute penalty. The Cayman Islands drew 0-0 with Dominica in their opening match.
Today’s match is significant because the Nations League provides a qualification route to the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup. The four League B group winners will qualify directly, while the two best second-place teams will enter the Gold Cup preliminary round.
The match was scheduled for 3 p.m. local time at Windsor Park.
