(Kaieteur News) – More than 3,700 students are set to graduate from the University of Guyana (UG) this November as the institution prepares to stage its 60th Annual Graduation Ceremonies.

The graduating cohort is among the largest in the university’s history and will see students receiving degrees, diplomas and certificates across a wide range of disciplines, UG said in a press release on Saturday.

Graduation ceremonies will begin at the Turkeyen Campus on 17th November and continue on 18th November, before moving to the Berbice Campus on 20th November. An additional graduation ceremony for students of the Institute of Distance and Continuing Education (IDCE) Extra-Mural Programme is scheduled for 28th November.

At Turkeyen, the first ceremony on 17th November, from 9:00 hrs to 11:30 hrs, will feature graduands from the Faculty of Engineering and Technology and the School of Entrepreneurship and Business Innovation.

The second ceremony that day, from 16:00 hrs to 18:30 hrs, will include the Faculty of Natural Sciences, College of Medical Sciences, Faculty of Earth and Environmental Sciences, and Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry.

On 18th November, the Faculty of Education and Humanities will graduate during the morning ceremony, scheduled from 9:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs.

The afternoon ceremony, from 16:00 hrs to 19:00 hrs, will feature the Faculty of Social Sciences, IDCE, the Institute for Human Resiliency, Strategic Security and the Future, and the College of Behavioural Sciences and Research.

The University of Guyana Berbice Campus graduation will be held on 20th November from 15:00 hrs at the University Lawns, Tain Settlement.

The four Turkeyen Campus ceremonies will be held at the Sattaur and Ameena Gafoor Multipurpose Auditorium, while the IDCE Extra-Mural Programme graduation will also be held at the auditorium.

UG said the ceremonies will mark an important transition for the graduands as they enter the national, regional and international workforce.

The university is also inviting the public to join in celebrating the achievement of the graduating students. The ceremonies will be streamed live on UG’s Facebook page and through the UG Broadcasting Service.

Prospective graduands have been urged to monitor their Student Records Management System (SRMS) accounts for graduation-related information and updates.

The 2026 graduation ceremonies come as UG marks its 60th convocation, while the institution itself continues to expand its contribution to Guyana’s professional workforce.

According to the university, it has produced more than 73,000 graduates during its 63-year history, with alumni serving at senior levels across Guyana and internationally in both the public and private sectors.

The IDCE Extra-Mural Programme graduation is scheduled for 28th November  at the Sattaur and Ameena Gafoor Multipurpose Auditorium.
